Dear All Ladies of St. Dimitrie,

At a recent meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary, several interesting and fun programs were suggested. Listed are some of the activities we already do and are planning. Every woman at St. Dimitrie is invited to participate.

Please consider joining your sisters in all or some of them

  • April 13 -20: Holy Week:  We would love to have helping hands to decorate the church. This week is a very important one on our liturgical calendar. The ladies, as well as the parish council, will make sure the church has a spring cleaning.  Also, we would love to have you join us in decorating the epitaful (Tomb of Jesus) on Good Friday morning. We will reach out again in the spring.

  • April 27 OR May 4: Our own Madalena Schulman, a noted educator of nature and herbal medicine, will share some of her extensive knowledge about our natural environment, health and wellness. Madalena will present her program following coffee hour. You will want to attend this very interesting presentation.

  • May 16-17 (Friday and Saturday): Start cleaning out your closets, attics, and basements because the Ladies will once again hold a community Tag Sale. We will need help with donations, setting up, selling and clean up.  For more information contact   Laurie Boudreau (203-631-6515) or email her at  laurieboudreau22@gmail.com   OR  Laura Bashar (203-257-6844) or email her at  lmkb521@sbcglobal.net

  • On-Going:  As an outreach to the local community, there is a donation box in the church hall by the back doors. We collect food for the less fortunate such as canned, boxed goods, soups, etc. Make sure to check the expiration dates. The Easton ·Food Pantry is so appreciative of our efforts as good neighbor .

  • Kitchen Help: Join the Ladies in the kitchen and help with our baking and cooking. There.is always something to he done while getting get to know other ladies of the community. Have some fun while helping and learning. Check the newsletter for baking dates. Once baking starts, grab your apron and join us!

Pita Baking Instructions

How to Cook Frozen Pita

Click here to download a pdf of the directions.

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees  for 15 min. (Not just till preheated)

  2. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees

  3. Spray pan with butter or Pam spray

  4. Place frozen pita in pan and bake for 40-45 min or until bottom is nicely brown and a little stiff.
        >>.   Test for doneness by sliding spatula under one corner and lifting up. Entire corner should lift up without sagging.
        >>.   If top of pita is too dark, cover with foil and continue to bake.

  5. Let sit in pan for 1-2 minutes after baking then slide large spatula under whole pita to loosen sides from pan. Shake pita in pan to make sure it will not stick.

  6. Place short edge of pita pan on wire rack and run spatula under short side of pan to help slide pita onto a wire rack.

  7. Allow pita to cool before cutting. This is very important
    >>.
This will prevent pita from sweating in pan and getting soggy.

To Cut Cooked  Pita

  • Slide it back into original pan and cut with scissors.
